Thomas LeRoy Kreis
Thomas LeRoy Kreis, age 85, of Stromsburg, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at his home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Stromsburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Spearow officiating.  Organist will be Mary Anne Guggenmos. Soloist will be Doris Kreis singing 'Amazing Grace' and Kathy Olson singing 'Softly and Tenderly' and 'The Old Rugged Cross.'  Pallbearers will be Terry Larson, Brian Klein, Scott Larson, Craig Lindquist, Russell Kreis and James Gansemer.   Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Donelson, Clark Yungdahl, Wayne Beatty, Marlowe Johnson and Ray Oschner.  
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Stromsburg Methodist Church.  Internment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery with Military Rites by the Stromsburg Legion Post 132. Memorials are suggested to the Stromsburg United Methodist Church.
Tom was born July 11, 1933 at Stromsburg to Russell Faye and Edna Pearl (Myers) Kreis. He attended Stromsburg Schools graduating in 1953.
Tom served in the United States Army from August 20, 1953 to June 23, 1955. While serving in the Army in Kentucky he met Bessie Jane Casey and they were married on August 8, 1959 in Louisville, KY. They moved to Orlando, FL for two years and then to Stromsburg, NE in 1963. Bessie passed away October 31, 1998.
Tom farmed and operated Tom Kreis Dry Wall Construction for 42 years, retiring in 2005.
Tom was united in marriage Connie Leah (Covert) Seydlitz on June 8, 2004 in Nevada.
He was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, the Stromsburg Masonic Lodge #126 AF and AM, and the Shriners, a 40 year member of the Elks Club in York, NE and the Stromsburg American Legion Post 132.Survivors include his wife Connie of Stromsburg; two daughters, Crystal Seydlitz of Stromsburg and Vannessa (Robbie) Haneline of Licking, MO, son-in-law Raymond Ochsner of Sutton, NE; two brothers, Bob Kreis and special friend Chris of Lincoln and Lyle Kreis of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bessie, one daughter Patricia Ochsner, one brother, Ralph and one sister, Emily Hoyt and niece, Lindsay Larson.
