Steven Anderson Obituary

Steven Layne Anderson, age 53, of Stromsburg, Nebraska passed away February 8, 2020 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, Swede Home with Sister Anne Hall and Pastor Murray Johnston officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Stevens, Bud Stevens, Ed Coover, Megan Oquist, Andrew Oquist, Libby Faulconer and Harlan Faulconer. Inurnment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Steve was born December 18, 1966 in Omaha at Immanuel Hospital. He was adopted through Lutheran Family Social Services in Lincoln, Nebraska to Paul Donald and Elaine Jeanette (Carlson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Swede Home. He graduated from Polk High School in 1985. He farmed the family farm west of Stromsburg most of his life until his last few years.
Steve was an avid race fan and loved his racing. He didn't care if he was last, he just loved being in his car. He also loved snowmobiling, boating and was a story teller. He was fast to make friends wherever he went and was loved by all who knew him. His friends lovingly called him "Scuba Steve". He enjoyed attending bike rally's and rode with the Calvary Lutheran Bike Organization.  He was a member of the River Rats Jeep Club.
Survivors include his sister Paula (Dave) Rollins of York; niece Megan Oquist of Exeter; nephew Andrew Oquist (Sierra Northbird) of Bemidji, MN and great niece Andie Leigh Oquist; girlfriend LeAnne Dewane of Shelby and her children Kala (Jon Gollin) Dewane and Jace of Osceola, Harlan (Morgan Larson) Faulconer of Stromsburg and Liberty Faulconer of Osceola; special friend Denise White of Sun City West, AZ; uncle Darwin Carlson of Stromsburg; aunt Laura Jane Hunt of Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
