Ronald L. Johnson, age 76, passed away April 16, 2022 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Osceola Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Suhr officiating.
Ronald was born September 29, 1945 to Roy Conrad and Nellie Mae (LeSuhr) Johnson in Osceola, Nebraska. He attended elementary school at Trinity Lutheran and Lincoln High in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a delivery driver at Hardy’s Furniture in Lincoln. He then worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Lincoln for 20 plus years.
On December 16, 1965 he was united in marriage to Linda May Freeman in Lincoln. To this union two children were born. The family lived in Lincoln until the early 90’s when they moved to Stromsburg. The family moved to Osceola for a short time during which he worked at a call center in Columbus, before returning to Stromsburg. Linda passed away October 13, 2020. Ronald moved to the Midwest Covenant Home December 6, 2021 where he resided until his passing.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Swede Home.
He enjoyed cars, animals, music, and watching westerns. His favorite saying was “This is God’s country.”
Survivors include daughter Theresa Johnson of Stromsburg; son Shawn Johnson of Columbus; three grandchildren Amanda Johnson of Lincoln, Ryan Johnson of Stromsburg and Jasmin Johnson of Fullerton; sisters Patricia (Kenneth) Allen and Mary Upton of Lincoln; brother Roy Johnson of Lincoln; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda; parents; two sisters Margie Johnson and Nancy Jones; two brothers Richard and Bob.
Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements.
