Ronald, the eldest son of Ralph and Elsie (Worley) Ellison was born at home in Madison township in Fillmore county Nebraska on February 7, 1939. He attended school district 3 until he was 10 years old when the family moved to a farm outside of Thayer. Ron graduated from Thayer high school in 1957. On June 5, 1959 he was united in marriage to Donna Cline. To this union four daughters were born. The couple resided in York for a year while Ron was employed at the Super Value grocery store. Ron and Donna moved to a farm in Benedict where Ron started his hog operation. The couple were host family to six Japanese men and one from Romania through the UNL Agricultural Training Program. In 1973 the couple bought a farmhouse 4 miles west of Gresham where they still reside.  Ron was baptized in the Methodist church and at a young age became a member of the Nazarene church in York.
