He attended country school and graduated from Boelus High School in 1958. Ron attended Norfolk Junior College where he met the love of his life, Sharon. Ron and Sharon were married on April 22nd, 1962, in Norfolk at Grace Lutheran Church, recently celebrating 63 years of marriage. Ron graduated from Midland Lutheran College with a bachelor’s degree in business and shortly after moved to Minnesota with his wife.

Ron worked in Minneapolis for Hartford Insurance for three years. He was recruited by Roy Dinsdale to return to Nebraska to run the Osceola Insurance Agency for Pinnacle Bank. Ron owned and managed the agency for 44 years. Additionally, Ron worked as a real estate broker at Lee’s Realty and served as a trusted appraiser. He was highly invested in the community of Osceola, Ron served on the city council, Chamber of Commerce, the park and library boards, Annie Jeffrey Hospital board and was a long-time member of the St. Paul Lutheran council and parish. He served as a Luther League leader alongside Sharon. Ron believed deeply in the worth and potential of the members of Osceola.

Outside of his career, Ron was a devoted and remarkable father who taught his three daughters valuable life lessons. He never missed a chance to play ball with them and attended their many activities and games. He supported and encouraged education and life-long learning – values he instilled in his daughters and grandchildren. Some of his greatest joys came from being surrounded by family. Together, they created lasting memories cheering on Husker football and the Kansas City Royals. Ron found great happiness in sharing his love for travel with those close to him, exploring new places from Hawaii to Australia. He treasured the winters spent in Arizona enjoying the sunshine with his beloved wife, Sharon. He found joy in golfing, gardening, biking and walking the arboretum. Ron and Sharon were proud charter members of Ryan Hill Country Club established in 1967.
