Robert Thomas Glatter, age 70, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away May 7, 2024 at his home in Shelby.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Polk County Fairgrounds in Osceola (note change of location) with Chaplain Aaron Phillips officiating. No visitation. Inurnment in be in the Shelby Cemetery.

Robert was born March 2, 1954 in Osceola to Wallace William and JoAnn (Taddiken) Glatter. He attended school in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High School in 1973. While in high school he worked for the railroad during the summers. He then helped Larry and Carol Kresha on the farm.

On April 27, 1974 he was united in marriage to Debra Dee Scow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. To this union two children were born. The family lived in Shelby.

Through the years Rob worked at various places including Sunflower Meat Packing in York, Polk Locker, Jack & Jill in Shelby with his brother Ron; KC Auto Supply in Columbus and was parts manager for John Deere in Osceola. He also worked at Reg’s 7-Mile near Columbus for several years. He retired in 2019.

Rob enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, shooting trap, and especially family time.

Survivors include his son Ryan (Lori) Glatter of Gretna; daughter Jessica Glatter of Shelby; significant other Connie Heindryckx of Osceola; five grandchildren: Hallie (Justin) Hoffmann, Peyton (Colin Wolfe) Glatter, Andric Garcia, Dylan Glatter and Piper Glatter, two great grandchildren; brother Ron Glatter of Shelby; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents JoAnn Furbur and Wallace Glatter; wife Debra Glatter who passed away February 13, 2016; and daughter-in-law Nicki Glatter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
