Obituary

Ricky L. Rieck, age 63, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed August 21, 2020 at his home in Osceola.
Rick's wishes were to be cremated with no services. Condolences may be sent to 620 N. State Street, Osceola, NE 68651.
Rick was born September 4, 1956 to Carl Leo and Florence Ruth (Freeman) Rieck in Spalding, Nebraska. He attended country school in Boone County, Primrose Elementary and graduated from Spalding High School in 1975. Shortly after high school he moved to Polk County where he lived in Osceola and Stromsburg.
On April 3, 1976 he was united in marriage to Debra Scott at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola. To this union two daughters were born. Rick worked as a carpenter for Builders Supply in Osceola and in 2015 Rick began working with Toby Johansen for Depot 92 Construction.
On July 31, 2009 Rick was united in marriage to Betty Mace at the Courthouse in Osceola. In this marriage, Rick was a dad, not just a step-dad to his step-children.
He enjoyed building things, working on cars, fishing, gardening, cooking and even sewing.  He also enjoyed going to the Rieck farm in Boone County.
Rick was a 18 year member of the Osceola Fire and Rescue Department.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Osceola; daughters Amy (Matt) Kropatsch of Columbus and Jessica (David) Morrison of Osceola; step-children Chase (Caitlin) Blankenship of New Hampshire, Sarah BeVelle of Alabama, Kelsey Mace and Destiny Mace both of Osceola; grandchildren: Isabella Florence, Treyton Jerome, Ava Angelia Lynn and Lane Matthew Kropatsch; step-granddaughters Olyvia and Eliza; brothers Laurel (Brenda) of Omaha, Arlyn of Tennessee, Carl (Gay) of Fullerton, Marlin (Linda) of Columbus and Gale (Michealine) of Grand Island and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence; sister-in-law Marty Rieck and one niece Wanda.
