Rex Lee Wieseman, age 86, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away December 25, 2023 at Osceola Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Soonil Park officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. Organist will be Louise Wheeler. Musical selections will be “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”, “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden.” Pallbearers will be Kenny Lloyd, Marvin Klein, Kevin Wieseman, Cody Tschantre, Randy Neujahr and Anthony Mestl. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Wieseman, Grady Greiss, Jake Greiss, Kolbie Klemsz, Brad Johansen, Corey Wieseman, Larry Connelly, and Chris Conkling. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.

Rex was born May 17, 1937 north of Osceola to Donal R. and Alta G. (Grossnicklaus) Wieseman. He attended Dist. 10 country school and graduated from Osceola High School in 1954. After high school he began working construction for Tex Horn and Virg Willlits for a couple of years. He then began farming and started Wieseman Brothers Construction with his brother Larry, hauling dirt.

On December 5, 1958 he was united in marriage to Lorraine F. Christensen in York, Nebraska. To this union three sons were born. The family lived in the Osceola and Silver Creek area throughout the years. Rex farmed and fed cattle for many years, never really retiring. He moved to the Osceola Good Samaritan Society on November 30, 2023 where he resided until his passing.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osceola.

Survivors include his wife Lorraine of Osceola; sons, Gregg Wieseman of Grand Island, Keith (Diane Wall) Wieseman of Silver Creek and Scott (Fran) Wieseman of Osceola; two grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; sister JoAnn (Kenny) Donelson of Stromsburg; brother Larry (Karen) Wieseman of Osceola; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law Betty Wieseman and brother-in-law Eugene ‘Jinx’ Johansen.
