Ramona was born January 20, 1932, in rural Swede Home to William B. and Esther (Peterson) Larson. She attended country school Dist. 70 for 7 years and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1949. She was employed at Hazel’s Apparel and Ericson’s Jewelry in Stromsburg and enjoyed babysitting.
On June 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Vance A. Teegerstrom at Calvary Lutheran Church at Swede Home. She lived in the Stromsburg area all of her life except for 2 years in Columbus. She and Vance enjoyed their family, working, and doing things together. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, gardening, cake decorating, and babysitting—also trying to keep up with their 4 sons in church activities, school sports/activities, Boy Scouts, and paper routes. These sons would be a great source of pride in Ramona’s life as all 4 earned their Eagle Scout rank. Furthermore, all 3 of Ramona’s grandsons earned their Eagle Scout ranks.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and transferred to Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg where she was a member of W.E.L.C.A. and Bible studies. For 51 years, she was a member of Stromsburg American Legion Auxiliary. As her family grew, she extended her love and enjoyment to watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. Ramona would tell you that she loved her family most of all, and that her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren held a very special and inspired place in her heart.
