Peter Marvin Holm D.D.S., age 89 of Lanesboro, MN, formerly Roseville, MN, passed away June 19, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stromsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pianist will be Nicholas Eller. Musical selections will be “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”, “And Can It Be”, “Crown Him With Many Crowns” and “Bless Be The Tie That Binds.” Pallbearers will be the grandchildren: Lyndi Thomas, Lexi Eller, Coleman Baker, Katie Baker, Madison Wroblewski, Tatum Baker, Nicole Erickson, Daniel Holm, David Holm, Bret Hausmann, Lauren Holm, Paige Magliocco, Charlie Holm, and Britton Hausmann. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Twin Cities at a later date.

Peter was born January 31, 1936 in Gauhati, Assam India to Reuben Winfield and Edna Victoria (Pearson) Holm. In 1953, he graduated from Mt. Hermon School in Darjeeling, India. He left India and returned to America and put himself through college at the University of Minnesota and then the University of Minnesota Dental School where he received his D.D.S. degree in 1960.

On September 5, 1959, he married the love of his life Elaine Lou Houghton in Elgin, Minnesota, to this union four children were born - Steven (Kara) Holm of La Crosse, WI, Thomas (Jenny) Holm of Maplewood, MN, Lori (Bob) Hausmann of Dallas, TX, and Kari (Owen) Baker of Stromsburg.

Peter actively served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy for two years, followed by three years as a naval reserve officer until 1965. 

Peter returned to St. Paul, Minnesota, where he established his practice and enjoyed his work as a dentist for 46 years. He taught for many years at the University of MN Dental School, and volunteered as a dentist for the Salvation Army Clinic in Rochester, MN until Elaine's passing in July, 2018.  He served as a dentist on several missions trips to the Ukraine through The Shepherd's Foundation. His love for the Lord and people held the highest importance in his life.

Survivors include his children; sister Marion (Ken) Hoglund of Burnsville, MN; brother Stephen (Glenda) Holm of Louisville, KY; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his dear companion JoAnn Jallo.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine and parents Reuben and Edna Holm.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
