Norma Jean Johnson, age 65, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away September 8, 2021 in Osceola, Nebraska
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Keet Redden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Prelude will be by Charlie Wolford. Pianist will be Roni Branting. Soloist will be Kurt Moore singing "No More Night" and "Home Where I Belong". Pallbearers will be Jason Nuttelman, Greg Nuttelman, Scott Nuttelman, Glen Wolford, Shane Gerlach, Jason Whalen, Kelly Jasnoch,Bruce Bednar, Ryan Dickey, Jared Topil, Heath Topil. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Norma was born January 30, 1956 in Stromsburg, NE to Rolland and Rea Mae (Rystrom) Johnson. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior on March 20, 1973, and baptized that summer.
She graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1975 then began working at Dale Electronics in York and Columbus for several years, and transitioning to the food service at the Columbus Middle School for 15 years, retiring due to health. She was also involved in the Awana Ministry in both Columbus and Stromsburg for many years.
In December of 2017, Norma moved from Columbus to Park Villa in Stromsburg. She was an avid Husker fan of football, basketball and volleyball. She loved flowers, small animals, (especially dogs), listening to music and putting puzzles together. Cooking and baking were a couple of her favorite pastimes. Norma always looked forward to the activities at Park Villa and events through the Midwest Covenant Home. Visiting with her Park Villa neighbors was a highlight of each day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and great nephew, Zac Bednar.
Survivors include siblings: Gloria (Doug) Nuttelman, Anita (Ray) Lindgren of Stromsburg, Keith (Jill) Johnson of Gibbon, Judy (Doug) Topil of Lincoln; nieces and nephews: Jason (Bridget), Greg (Stacy), Scott (Kristin) Nuttelman all of Stromsburg, Gina (Shane) Gerlach of Omaha, Glen (Kylie) Wolford, Gail (Jason) Whalen, Geri (Kelly) Jasnoch of Kearney, Amy (Bruce) Bednar of Firth, Erin (Ryan) Dickey of Stromsburg, Jared Topil of Blaine, MN and Heath Topil of Lincoln; 24 great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
