Michael Cordell Patience, 82, of Osceola, Nebraska died Monday, July 8, 2024 at Annie Jeffrey Hospital in Osceola. Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola with Pastor Raleigh White officiating. Internment will be in the Osceola Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Osceola American Legion Post. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
Michael was born on December 8, 1941 to William and Nina (Briggs) Patience in Shenandoah, Iowa. He graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1960 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Michael married his first wife, Connie, and to this union a daughter, Jeanne, was born. As a result of his military service in Vietnam, the couple separated and divorced. Michael later married his second wife, Terry, and together they had a son, Kevin. The marriage dissolved quickly. On, January 7, 1974, Michael married his wife of 48 years, Lynda Gaedeke, and to this union a daughter, Hyde, was born. When he was younger, Michael painted bridges and worked in construction, but for most of his life, he worked as an over the road truck driver and an owner-operator. Michael was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola and the Osceola American Legion Post. He enjoyed fishing, fixing old cars, and attending car and air shows.
Michael is survived by his children- Jeanne (Duncan) McMillan of Abilene, TX; Kevin Patience of Osceola, NE; and Hyde Patience of Osceola, NE; granddaughter- Keira McMillan of Abilene, TX; brother- Jack (Jill) Patience of West Virginia; sister- Janet Heuer of Kentucky; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda who passed away May 19, 2022; his parents, William and Nina (Briggs) Patience; his parents-in-law, Chris and Gladys Gaedeke; brothers, Lyonel (Pat) Patience and William (Skip) Patience; and sister, Kathy (Patience) Allshouse.
