Melonie Jean Lotspeich, age 62, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away May 22, 2020 at her home in Osceola.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Brad Birtell officiating at the Osceola Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, May 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Due to current COVID-19 health mandates, practice social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet among attendees, family, staff, and clergy.
Melonie was born March 9, 1958 in Columbus to Ward D. and Judy M. (Schleicher) Bailey. She attended school in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1976.
On July 22, 1978 she was united in marriage to Craig Allen Lotspeich in Columbus. To this union five children were born.
While living in Columbus she worked at Jackson Services and Columbus Laundry. In the mid 1990's the family moved to Osceola and Mel continued working at Columbus Laundry and from 2007 to March of 2020 she was employed at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
She enjoyed sewing, word search, puzzle books, coloring, keno and socializing with friends on her patio.
Survivors include her husband Craig of Osceola; children: Amy Sindelar of Columbus, Aaron (Melissa) Lotspeich of Columbus, Ashley (Josh) Bennett of Stanton, Adam (Mackenzie) Lotspeich of Anna, Texas, and Alesha (Dean) Atkinson of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; two brothers Ed (Jeanne) Bailey of Union and Chip Bailey of Plattsmouth and one sister Tammy Bailey of Plattsmouth; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers to be designated later.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
