Mary Lou Stallings, age 88, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away April 3, 2021 at Bryan West in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 8 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
Mary Lou was born January 23, 1933 to Edwin and Lucille (Sanley) Neujahr in Butler County. She attended elementary school in Surprise and graduated from David City High School in 1950. Following high school she attended Lincoln School of Commerce. She then worked at a bank in Lincoln prior to working at First National Bank in David City.
On June 7, 1953 she was united in marriage to Wayne LeRoy Stallings at the Methodist Church in David City. To this union three children were born. They lived in Utica before moving to a farm east of Stromsburg in 1959 where Mary Lou was a homemaker. She then returned to work at the First National Bank in David City until retiring in 1987. Over the years she worked at Ryan Hill Country Club, ASCS Office and at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center where she was also a member of the board. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the Annie Jeffrey Thrift Shop.
In the mid 90's she moved to Osceola where she resided until her passing.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Osceola, Legion Auxiliary, and Ryan Hill Country Club. She enjoyed league bowling for 61 years, attending numerous state and national competitions. She also enjoyed golf, cards, reading, crosswords and Sudoku.
Survivors include her children: Brad (Terri) Stallings of Whitewater, WI, Robin Johnson of Lincoln, Kim Hablitzel of Shelby; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, who passed away September 10, 1990; and her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated locally at a later date.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
