Lynda Marie (Gaedeke) Patience

Lynda M. Patience, age 73, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away May 19, 2022 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Raleigh White officiating. Organist will be Louise Wheeler. Music by the St. Paul Lutheran Choir will be “Soon and Very Soon” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Congregational hymns will be “Hymn of Heaven” and “In Christ Alone.” Inurnment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.

Lynda was born May 11, 1949 in Osceola to Christian Ludvig and Gladys Marie (Carlson) Gaedeke. The family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Lynda attended elementary school through the 3rd grade. They returned to Osceola in 1960 and Lynda attended Osceola schools graduating in 1967.

She attended Denver Business College and then worked for IBM in Denver. She moved back to Osceola and worked at Dale Electronics.

On January 7, 1974 she was united in marriage to Michael Cordell Patience at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. Michael brought with him to this union two children and together another child was born.

Lynda was a homemaker, a cook at the Shelby Hotel, A & B in Shelby and an evening cook at the Midwest Covenant Home for more than 20 years, retiring in 2019.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband Michael of Osceola; children Jeanne (Duncan) McMillian of Abilene, TX, Kevin Patience of Laurens, IA and Hyde Patience of Osceola; granddaughter Keira McMillian, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Christian and Gladys Gaedeke and one infant brother Donn Gaedeke.

Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
