Lottie Lee Johnson, age 90, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away December 30, 2023 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Keet Redden officiating. No visitation. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Lindburg, Kevin Lindburg, Ryan Johnson, Anders Wennstrom, Aaron Posak Carson, Michael Kutschkau, Stephen Lindburg, Jordan Damkroger, Andrew Johnson and Caelen Johnson. Inurnment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Lottie was born May 3, 1933 in Benedict, Nebraska to Ralph Theadore and Maxine Ruth (Howard) McLean. She attended school in Benedict graduating from Benedict High School in 1950. She then attended Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln.

On December 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Carl William Johnson in Benedict. To this union seven children were born. The family lived in Stromsburg where Carl was a farmer and Lottie was a homemaker.

She especially enjoyed spending time with family. She also enjoyed homemaking, gardening, hospitality and baking.

She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church. She was involved with Women’s Ministry and Extension Club.

Survivors include her children: Carla (Cregg ) Wennstrom of Antioch, IL, Cathy (Ron) Carson, Cherri (Scott) Lindburg, Scott (Cathy) Johnson, all of Stromsburg, Cindy (Ron) Kutschkau of Clarks, Colleen (Charles) Johnson of Harrisonville, MO; son-in-law Rick Damkroger of Firth; 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Richard Johnson of Stromsburg and Larry Christiansen of Arizona; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl who passed away January 27, 2023; her parents Ralph and Maxine; daughter Carol Damkroger; sister Julie Christiansen; brother Jim McLean; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Doyle) Gustafson and Nancy Johnson.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
