Linda (Braithwait) Larson, age 83, of Osceola, passed away October 21st, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Keet Redden officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 24th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home.

Linda was born August 19, 1941 in Columbus to Ross and Mable (Abbott) Braithwait. After her father passed in a car accident, her mother moved Linda and her siblings to Shelby. Her mother was then remarried to Sam Gondringer. With few memories of her biological father, Linda always credited Sam as being an incredible father figure in her life. The family moved to Gresham where Linda attended elementary school, then back to Shelby where she finished her education.

In 1958 she married Myron Hiemer, and to this union two children arrived. Following their divorce, she was married to Larry Larson in 1964, and to this union two children were born.

Linda worked as a Cook at Osceola Public Schools and Head Cook at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital, then later in the laundry service there.

Linda was known for her wonderful cooking and kind hospitality. She made Sunday lunches for her family for over 30 years and cherished the time spent bonding with her family as it grew. Every Thursday, she met her friends for coffee, a ritual that was near to her heart. Linda loved doing puzzles, playing cards and testing new recipes for her loved ones to enjoy. She was a member of the Stromsburg Evangelical Free Church since May, 1993.

Survivors include her children, Tammi (Rich) Hayes of Osceola, Todd Hiemer of Lincoln, Trent (Jackie) Larson of Bennington, and LuAnn (Dave) Hanson of Osceola; eight grandchildren Natalie Murphy, Tasha Hayes, Nolan (Amanda) Hayes, Allie (Colby) McIntyre, Lexi (Kyle) Reimers, Arah (Daniele) La Rocca, Bailey Larson and Tucker Larson, and twenty-two great grandchildren; brother-in-law Robert Thelen and sister-in-law Geraldine Braithwait.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross Braithwait and Mable Gondringer, stepfather Sam Gondringer, siblings Delton Braithwait, Ross Braithwait, Shirley Svec, Phyllis Brandt and Connie Thelen.
