Lewis Ray Kowalski

Lewis Ray Kowalski, age 65, of Polk, Nebraska, passed away May 21, 2023 at UNMC in Omaha.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Lewis was born February 27, 1958 in St. Paul, Nebraska to Bernard and Ruth (Gardner) Kowalski.

He attended school in St. Paul graduating in 1977. Following high school he went to work at Chief Industries and then at Monforts in Grand Island as a butcher.

On November 28, 1987 he was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Mooney at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg. To this union three children were born. Lewis began working for Bibba Construction in Geneva and then at Champion Homes in York. He retired in 2005 due to an injury.

He enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales and collecting various items.

Survivors include his wife Patricia of Polk; children: Tiffany (Matthew) Gutierrez of Newton, IA, Malynda ‘Mindy’ (Adam) Meier of McCool Junction, and Ben (Anna) Kowalski of Wilber; seven grandchildren; sister Angie Marsh of Comstock; two brothers Bernie (Paula) Kowalski of Comstock and Harvey Kowalski of Aurora; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
