Larry Leon Lehn, age 82, of Stromsburg. Nebraska, passed away March 17, 2025 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Larry was born June 24, 1942 in Sidney, Nebraska, to Floyd Arnold and Gladys Lorraine (Porter) Lehn. He grew up on a farm near Chappell, Nebraska and had fond memories of farming, especially wheat harvest. He attended school in Chappell and graduated from Chappell High School in 1959. He attended Kearney State College, graduating in 1965 with a BA degree in Industrial Arts and was a member of Theta XI fraternity.  After graduating he was offered and accepted a teaching position in Stromsburg. He briefly taught in York in 1970 and 1971, then returned to Stromsburg where he continued teaching Industrial Arts until he retired.

On August 15, 1971 he was united in marriage to Lynda Sue Abshier in Kearney. To this union three daughters were born. The family made their home in Stromsburg.

While teaching in Stromsburg Larry helped coach basketball, track and baseball over the years.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he was involved with many committees and activities in the church. His faith was an important part of his life. He was also a member of the Lions Club and served on the Viking Center Board.

He enjoyed fishing and boating at Lake McConaughy. He and his grandfather helped deliver fishing flys for Cabelas when the company was just beginning. He liked working with his hands making cedar chests for his wife and daughters along with other projects for family and the community. He also enjoyed gardening. Larry loved telling stories and was known for his quotes. He especially loved following his girls and grandchildren in their activities.

Survivors include his wife Sue of Stromsburg; daughters Cindy (David) Anderson of Lincoln, Karie (Jesse) Martin of Fremont and Sheri (Brandon) Harris of Martell; five grandchildren: Avery Martin, Kessandra Martin, Calen Harris, Kenley Harris and Kaylee Harris and one great grandchild Brinley Martin; sister Barbara Vogt of Centennial, CO; brother-in-law Morry (Debby) Abshier of Norfolk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Gladys Lehn; parents-in-laws Wayne and Lyna Abshier; infant brother Jackie Eugene; and brother-in-law Tim Vogt.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
