Larry Herbert Bourelle Sr.
Larry Herbert Bourelle Sr., age 74, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away June 28, 2018 at the  Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stromsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Chapman officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, July 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Stromsburg. Organist will be Deb Franz. Musical selections will be "Lead Me Home", "The Old Rugged Cross", and "You Hold Me Now." Pallbearers will be Dustin Bourelle, Anthony Bourelle, Jacob Henson, Trenton Hansen, Luke Ellis, and Matthew Winkelmann. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Bourelle. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
Larry was born September 27, 1943 to Harold H. and LaRena (Burklund) Bourelle in Oakland, California. The family moved to Nebraska where Larry attended elementary school in Atlanta, Nebraska and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1962. By age 15 he worked at the gas station in Holdrege, Montgomery Wards and Coast to Coast.  
On July 16, 1964 he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Hansen in Holdrege. To this union four children were born. Larry began working at Artistic Manufacturing in Holdrege before owning and operating his own "Quality Oil Filling Station" in Phillipsburg. He returned to Artistic Manufacturing in the maintenance department, he then worked in Kearney for Eaton doing welding.
The family moved to Stromsburg in October of 1978 where Larry opened "Larry's Welding and Repair". After selling his repair business he worked in Waco at Eventemp for two years and Greystone in Columbus for a year. In retirement Larry delivered cars for Janssen Ford out of York.
Larry was a volunteer on the Stromsburg Fire Department, a member of the Stromsburg Commercial Club where he organized Bingo for many years.
He enjoyed cards, camping, fishing, flea markets and the Junk Jaunt. He also loved gardening, welding, and was part of the unofficial coffee club at Casey's. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Larry is survived by his wife Sharon of Stromsburg; children, Brenda Bourelle of Lincoln, Larry Jr. (Maren) Bourelle of Plymouth, WI and Becky (Scott) Hensen of Plymouth, NE; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and LaRena Bourelle; one son Jeff Duane; one brother David Lee and one sister Carla Mae.
