Kathie Ann Andrews, 72, of Stromsburg, Neb., passed away November 8, 2021, at York General Hospital.
Funeral services are Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating.
Visitation is Sunday, November 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Stromsburg. Musical selections include “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” Organist is Mary Anne Guggenmos.
Pallbearers are Kent Cologrove, Davey Cologrove, Charles Noyd and Matt Uphoff. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Kathie was born August 14, 1949, to William and Frances (Bancroft) Stalder in Muscatine, Iowa. At a young age, she moved with her family to Bartlesville, Okla. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she received her degree in elementary education. She then went on to receive her Master of Education at Kearney State College.
On August 7, 1971, she was united in marriage to Floyd Alvin Andrews in Lincoln. They had four children. The family moved to Stromsburg in 1972, where she was a special education teacher in the Stromsburg school system for 38 years, retiring in 2004.
Kathie loved being around family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed reading books, liked to travel with family and helped with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She liked walks in town and taking her grandchildren to the pool.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Charter AR.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd of Stromsburg; children, John Andrews of Gresham; James Andrews of Columbus; Richard (Emily) Andrews of Williamsburg, Iowa; and Sarah (Matt) Jeratowski of Stromsburg; four grandchildren, Lilly, Kelsey and Brody Andrews, and Katie Andrews; three siblings, Jim (Carolyn) Stalder of Dallas, Texas; Janet (Ron) Welch of Nashville, Tenn.; and Barbara (Tom) Cornell of Yukon, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
