Karen Annette Nelsen, 85, of Osceola, Nebraska passed away on April 16, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Home in Osceola, Nebraska.

Karen was born on April 23, 1938, in Osceola, Nebraska, the beloved daughter of Glenn W. and Tempie Viola (Burgess) Richards. She had 6 siblings (Betty, Glenna, Jean, Marla, Roy, Larry).  Karen attended and graduated from Osceola High School in 1955. She married the love of her life Leonard Nelsen in February, 1964. Karen worked at the York General Hospital in housekeeping for many years.

She is survived by her children Tim of Shelby, Nebraska,  Roy (Kim M. Kline) of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Karen Johnson (2 grandchildren Colton and McKenzie) of Tennessee, and Step-son Donald Nelsen of Fremont, Nebraska.  

Her beloved parents, husband (January 6, 1979) and 4 step-children preceded her in death. (Larry, Jackie, Lenny and Ron)

Her hobbies included traveling, bingo and spending time with her son Tim's dogs Zeus and Thor.
