Juana Garcia De Ramirez, age 93, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away June 4, 2026 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Andrew Litt officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at the church. Musical selections will be “El Alfarero”, “Señor me has mirado a los ojos”, “Nadie te ama como yo”, and “Yo te extrañare” Pallbearers will be Agustin Jr. Ruvalcaba, Kevin Johnson, Omar Ruvalcaba, Sergio Espinoza, Sergio J. Espinoza and Juan Pablo Espinoza. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.

Juana was born August 21, 1932 in Coatlancillo, Mexico to Sacarias Garcia and Vita Rosales.

In 1972 she was united in marriage Ramon Ramirez Ramirez in Tonaya, Mexico. To this union 14 children were born. The family lived in Mexico where they were ranchers and Juana was a ranch wife. In 2014, due to her husband’s health the family moved to Shelby, Nebraska to be closer to family.

Juana enjoyed gardening, word searches and Bingo.

Survivors include thirteen children: Guadalupe Ramierz of California, Maria De Jesus Ruvalcaba of Shelby, Josefina Ramirez of California, Felipa Ramirez of California, Ramon Ramirez of California, Antonia Sandoval of California, Rafaela Ramirez of California, Carmen Ramirez of Manzanillo, Mexico, Jose Trinidad Ramirez of Shelby, Manual Ramirez of Jalisco, Mexico, Maria Azuncion Ruvalcaba of Shelby, Ruben Ramirez of Shelby and Zoila Cristina Rairez of Shelby; 50 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one sister Socorro Garcia Rosalez; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ramon who passed away February 8, 2017; parents; one daughter Alicia Rosales and one granddaughter Veronica Bautista; siblings Jesus Garcia Rosalez, Refujio Garcia Rosalez, Jose Garcia Rosalez, Maximino Garcia Rosalez, Carlos Garcia Rosalez and Ramon Garcia Rosalez.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
