Jo Ann (Taddiken) Furbur, age 89, of David City, formerly of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away August 19, 2022 at David Place in David City, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Shelby with Pastor Soonil Park officiating. No visitation. Organist will be Peg Coffin. Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace”, “In The Garden”, and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers will be Ryan Glatter, Hallie Hoffmann, Peyton Glatter, Dylan Glatter, Ryan Fjell and Andric Garcia. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.
Jo Ann (Taddiken) Furbur the oldest daughter of Kenneth and Lillian (Thomazin) Taddiken was born on March 10, 1933 in Columbus.
She graduated from Shelby High School in 1950. She taught at Union, a one room school, worked at the Shelby Hospital and Annie Jeffrey Hospital in Osceola. She was a member of the United Methodist Church serving the church school for over 25 years, served as a volunteer for the Shelby Senior Center and was a Senior Companion for the Shelby area.
In 1951 she married Wallace Glatter and two sons were born to this union, Ronald Wallace and Robert Thomas Glatter. She loved her family and was very devoted to them. She was always proud of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Ronald and Robert (friend Connie); three grandchildren Ryan (Lori) Glatter of Gretna, Jessica Garcia of Shelby and Tori (Rick) Reznicek of Plattsmouth; 9 great grandchildren Hallie (Justin) Hoffmann, Peyton and Dylan Glatter, Andric Garcia and Piper Glatter and Kennedy, Collins, Liam and Brooks Reznicek; three sisters Kay Loy Johnson, Marcia (Steve) Voss and Candice (Gary) Vrbka, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Bill Johnson; daughter-in-law Debra Glatter and granddaughter-in-law Nicki Glatter.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
