Jim L. Younglund

Jim L. Younglund, age 70, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away February 18, 2024 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the Midwest Covenant Home Chapel with Pastors Leonard Suhr, Bob Johnson and Craig Pinley officiating.

Jim was born June 25, 1953 in Beatrice, Nebraska. In 1959 he was adopted by Harlan and Bertha Younglund and grew up in Stromsburg. He attended Stromsburg school through the 10th grade and later received his GED in 1974. He worked at the Stromsburg Hotel Cafe in 1970 and was also a painter. He attended Vocational Rehab in Lincoln where he learned floor polishing and returned to Stromsburg and continued working at the Stromsburg Hotel and also the local bowling alley. In 1974 he began working at the Midwest Covenant Home where he was employed for over 21 years. In 2010 he moved in to the Assisted Living and later Midwest Covenant Home nursing home where he resided until his passing.

He enjoyed listening to music, especially rock music. Family photos were very important to him and he enjoyed looking at them often.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harlan and Bertha, and many aunts and uncles.
