Jean Kaye Wilhelmy, 84, passed away on March 12, 2021 at the Tabitha Nursing Home in Lincoln, NE. She was a long time member at Trinity United Methodist Church. Jean was born to Roy and Gladys (Adelson) Nelson on July 21, 1936. Jean grew up on the farm and loved animals. Jean graduated Salutatorian from Clarks High School in Nebraska in 1954. It was there she met the love of her life Paul “Jack” Wilhelmy. Jack and Jean were married in the Clarks United Methodist Church on September 30, 1956. The adventure began; they owned two banks in Iowa and one in Nebraska, they raised and raced thoroughbred horses, and attended Nebraska football games. They loved their children and enjoyed them to the fullest. Jean was extremely maternal and her children knew they were everything to her. In her early years besides raising her children she worked as a Bookkeeper. She is survived by her children Kendall (Melinda), Randall (Dawn), Daryl (Susan), Krystal (James) Baumert, and Suzette Wilhelmy (Dan). She was so proud of her intelligent, caring, and loving, granddaughters; Lana (Adam) Nelson, Maggie Wilhelmy, Heidi Baumert, Hanna Baumert, Amy Argo (Brian), Megan Esch, and Marisa McClintock (Kyle). She was blessed with four great grandsons: Uriah, and Dedrick Nelson; Zach and Cade Argo. Deep in her faith she served on Church Building Committees, Church Bizarres, taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was Director of Christian Education. Jean is preceded in death by her forever love, husband Jack, her parents, her sister Donna (Joan) Wyman, and her brother Max Lee Nelson. There will be a private family service at the Stromsburg Cemetery with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for designation at The Jean Wilhelmy Family at 7935 Rose Hill Ct., Lincoln, NE 68516.
