James ‘Jim’ Thomas Joyce, age 75, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away September 25, 2024 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 20,, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Dav Hall, 4515 F Street, Omaha, NE. A special time to be together and share memories of Jim.
Jim ‘Chick’ was born June 8, 1949 in Spalding, Nebraska to Martin H. and Mary J. (Condon) Joyce. He attended school in Spalding and graduated from Spalding Academy. He grew up working at his family’s Ford dealership in Spalding. Following high school he moved to Omaha and worked for the city street department. He was an entrepreneur buying, selling and trading. He moved to Fremont for a time and back to Omaha while he flipped houses in the mid to later 80’s. Moving to Albion he began working at Spiegel Auto Sales and Service detailing vehicles. In the early 2000’s he moved to Osceola where he delivered cars for Tonniges Chevrolet.
Jim enjoyed cars and riding motorcycles. He especially enjoyed time with his friend Bill Gardner and the GMA racing team drag racing motorcycles.
Survivors include his daughter Jessica Joyce of Bellevue; sister Kathleen (Kenneth) Noonan of Lincoln; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Mary Joyce; sister Arlen (James) Paladino and brother Ed ‘Bing’ Joyce.
