Jack Victor Gouverneur age 95, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away March 21, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.

Jack was born August 18, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Jack and Opha Ruth (Whitaker) Gouverneur. He attended elementary school in Diamond, Missouri and graduated from Carthage High School in Carthage, Missouri. Jack was in a relationship with Barbara Jean Rodgers. Barbara brought a son, Paul, to this relationship.

Jack served in the US Air Force from January 11, 1951 until January 10, 1955. He then met and married Peggy Boles. She brought two children to the marriage. Jack worked for Railroad Express for several years until his retirement on August 18, 1965. He then began a career as a truck driver and was also involved with a clothing store in Carthage with his wife Peggy.

He then began a relationship with Grace Irene Mace in 2017. She had seven children who were welcomed into this relationship. Jack and Grace moved to Osceola in July of 2022 to be closer to family. Jack moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola in July of 2022 where he resided until his passing. Grace passed away June 1, 2023.

One of Jack’s passions was controlling model airplanes and in 1948 he set a speed record which was recorded at 128 mph. He was a member of Academy Model Association. He enjoyed being with family and dancing.

Survivors include his step-children: Paul Rogers and his family of Michigan; Kelli Stinebrook and family of Missouri and Howie Lindeman and family of Missouri, Max Mace and family of Missouri, Emma Wade and family of California, Joe Mace and family of Oregon, Telitha Mace of Missouri, Johnny Mace of Missouri, Betty Rieck of Nebraska and Twila Cole of Oregon; lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; Barbara Rogers; wife Peggy Gouverneur and Grace Mace; step son-in-law Rick Rieck.
