Irene Pauline (Augustin) Butterfield

Irene Pauline (Augustin) Treadway Butterfield, age 95, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away October 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.
Memorial services were held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola with Father Thomas Au officiating. A Rosary was held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Organist was Debbie Girard. Musical selections were "Be Not Afraid", "Prayer of St. Francis", "One Bread, One Body", "Song of Farewell", and "On Eagle's Wings." Inurnment was in the Shelby Cemetery.
Irene was born September 8, 1924 to Edmond and Minnie (Seberger) Augustin in Osceola, Nebraska. She attended Osceola schools graduating in 1942.
On August 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Eugene Treadway in Kansas. To this union eight children were born. Irene worked at BD's in Columbus from 1956 to 1960, for Augustin Brothers Cattle Co. and later for Dr. Clarence Davis. They lived in the Osceola area until 1962 when they moved to Shelby. Eugene passed away September 18, 1972.
Irene was married to Marvin Dean Butterfield on February 3, 1976. They moved to Lincoln where Irene worked for Dr. Ehrlich. In 1982 they retired to Mesa, Arizona. While living there Irene took up the game of golf and played well into her late 80's. She welcomed many friends and family to her home in Arizona where she was a gracious host for more than 30 years.
Irene moved back to Osceola March 22, 2017 where she resided at the Osceola Good Samaritan Society until her passing.
Survivors include her children: Mike (Donna) Treadway of Apache Junction, AZ, Lee Treadway of Lincoln, Dick (Joanie) Treadway of Osceola, Robert (Margene) Treadway of Omaha, Dan (Cindy) Treadway of Mesquite, TX, Deb (Rick) Nekl of Shelby, Judy Miller of Lincoln and Carol Rich of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother Wayne Augustin; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Marvin Butterfield and Eugene Treadway; brothers, Leonard and Delmar; sister Agness Davis; parents Ed and Minnie Augustin; granddaughter Sandee Treadway; daughter-in-law Janice Treadway; son-in-law Larry Rich.
