Hector Luis Morales Torres, age 25, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away December 11, 2025 in York County.

Visitation was held Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will take place in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois.

Hector was born May 18, 2000, in Puerto Rico to Hector Luis Morales Borreli and Maria Del Mar Torres Hernandez. He attended school in Puerto Rico. Following graduation he worked as a welder before enlisting in the Army on February 10, 2020 and served until January 31, 2024.

He was united in marriage to Maria Elizabeth Cano Martin in Osceola. To this union one son was born. They made their home in Shelby and Hector worked as a mold technician at BD’s in Columbus.

He enjoyed fishing, online gaming, puzzles, and bowling.

Survivors include his wife Maria of Shelby; son Hector Luis Morales Cano; mother Maria Torres; grandmother Digna Borreli; step-father Cesar Vazquez; siblings: Michael Morales, Adrian Morales, Yolimar Morales, Celimar Vazquez; aunts Mayra Morales and Jaimy Hernandez; nephews Thiago Morales and Kailani Orengo; uncles Francisco Torres, Juan Aquino and cousin Kelvin Torres and a host of other relatives and friends.
