Harold Clarence Parrish, age 92, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away November 19, 2022 at Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center in Seward, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center Chapel in Seward with Pastor JoEllen Axthelm officiating. Accompanist will be Deb Snell. Wess Robotham is vocalist. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Shelby Cemetery.
Harold was born August 27, 1930 on a farm near Tecumseh to Clarence and Wilma (Mandery) Parrish. He attended grade school in Omaha and graduated from high school in Elk Creek.
Harold was engaged in farming near Elk Creek and was a successful businessman, owning Bernt’s Cafe in Shelby and several restaurants over the years.
Harold was united in marriage to Mary (Gagnon) Sullivan on March 23, 1974.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Shelby; children Danny Mark (Donna) Parrish of Gray Court, South Carolina, Denise (Tim) Reed of Lincoln, Dan Sullivan of Papillion, Barbara (Jerry) Howard of Falls City, Diana (Doug) Thomas of Omaha, Nancy Samek of Rising City; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Yvonne McClanehan; and daughter-in-law Kathleen Sullivan.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
