Georgia Clark Obituary

Georgia Lee Clark, age 87, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away July 31, 2018 at her home in Shelby.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shelby United Methodist Church with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Organist will be Peggy Coffin. Soloist will be Rita Houdersheldt. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace", "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "Home." Pallbearers will be Eric Kimmons, Casey Thelen, Joey Rucks, Nathan Thelen, Dan Thelen and Mike Olson. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.
Georgia was born December 2, 1930 in Shelby, Nebraska to Marion Edgar and Gladys Loraine (McMeekin) Treadway. She attended school in Shelby prior to the family moving to Linwood, California. They later returned and she graduated from Shelby High School in 1949.  She received her Normal Training and attended Midland College in Fremont for one semester.
On July 4, 1951 she was united in marriage to Gordon Lee Clark in Shelby, Nebraska.
Georgia was a teacher at several country schools in the Shelby area and spent one year teaching at a country school east of Columbus. She later became Dr. Bierbower's receptionist in Shelby for many years. Georgia and her husband made crafts and attended many craft sales for 15 years retiring from the business in 1995.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Shelby, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Georgia enjoyed making crafts and quilting, dancing, especially square dancing, her bridge clubs and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Gordon of Shelby; daughters Neena (Dan) Thelen of Stromsburg and Melissa Clark of Shelby; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Joann and Kaye Wellman; and one grandchild Alyssa Thelen.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
