Freddie DeVern Bush, age 68, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away July 27, 2025 at his home in Osceola.

A private family inurnment will be held at the Polk Cemetery at a later date.

Fred was born July 8, 1957 in York, Nebraska to Willard Walter and Neva Albertha (Anderson) Bush. He attended school in Stromsburg graduating from Stromsburg High School in 1975. Fred started farming with his dad as he was growing up and continued farming and raising livestock after high school.

On March 3, 1979 he was united in marriage to Jill Corinne Hiemer at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola. To this union four children were born.

Growing up Fred was involved with 4-H, showing livestock. He loved farming, raising hogs farrow to finish, and cattle, especially seeing the baby calves. He always looked forward to harvest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to the Blackhills, feeding the farm cats, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren and visiting his son Pat in Arizona. Fred was a blood donor over the years. He was an avid runner, running with his daughter Tamara several times a week. He also enjoyed deck days, listening to music with his daughter Kristen and other family members, visiting daughter Heather after work, taking trips with Joel and Adam helping work on farm trucks. Fred will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife Jill of Osceola; son Pat (Michelle) Bush of Peoria, AZ; daughters Heather (Tim) Crane of Osceola, Tamara (Joel) Rowse of Osceola and Kristen (Adam) Cheek of Stromsburg; 8 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Neva Bush; brother Frank; and infant granddaughter.

Memorials are suggested to the Stromsburg Fire Department.
