Edith May (Ricci) Davis

Edith May Davis, age 72, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away in Osceola.

A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola.

Edith was born October 25, 1951 in Providence, Rhode Island to Joseph A. and Lenenda C. (Wilding) Ricci. She attended elementary school at Norton E and graduated from Norton high school in 1969. She then attended Johnson Wales college in Providence, RI. Edith worked as a chef living in various states including Massachusetts, Florida and Nebraska. Her career included Human Service and Care Staff management.

Edith devoted most of her life working with people with developmental disabilities. She helped people to live in small settings or in their own homes and integrated communities. Her dedication made an important difference in the hundreds of lives she touched. She especially loved helping with Special Olympics.

On December 24, 2016 she was united in marriage to Clarence ‘Mike’ Michael Davis at the Unitarian Church in Lincoln. They made their home in Osceola.

She enjoyed bowling, reading, crafts, walking, traveling and cooking.

Survivors include her husband Mike Davis of Osceola; step-sons Aaron (Beckah) and their children Brennan, Gideon and Michael; and CJ (Gretchen) and their children Gavin and Wesley Spencer; sisters Corinne (Will) Stephens, Eileen (Whitey), Donna Venegas of Osceola; nieces, nephews; her beloved pet Super Dog; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lenenda Ricci; two sisters, Joan and Linda; one brother Joseph; and brothers-in-law Audry Venegas, Armondo Gaeta and Donald Chudomelka.

Memorials are suggested to Thriftology, 300 N. 49th St., Fremont, Nebraska.
