Dorothy Marie Ang-Simpson, age 98 of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Stromsburg, passed away September 4, 2022 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Organist will be Sue Lehn. Congregational hymns will be "The Old Rugged Cross", "How Great Thou Art" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee." Pallbearers will be Robert Alfred, Kevin Ang, Shane Schank, Randy Harless, Eddie Coover, and Kim Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Schwarz, McKenzie Schwarz, Shelby Schwarz, Sean Schwarz, Cole Alfred, Taylor Alfred and Josh Ang. Interment will follow after the service and lunch in the Laclede Cemetery, in Polk, Nebraska.
Dorothy was born January 29, 1924 in McCool Junction, Nebraska to Eddie Albert and Marie (Keller) Wullbrandt. She attended school in Central City and graduated from Central City High School in 1941.
On January 29, 1942 she was united in marriage to Stanford J. Ang in Polk. To this union two children were born. They lived northwest of Polk on the farm. Stanford passed away in 1982.
On March 12, 1988 Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph P. Simpson at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg. They resided on the farm southwest of Stromsburg. Ralph passed away March 11, 2006.
Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg, Ladies Circle and the Stromsburg Senior Center.
Survivors include daughter Karen Alfred of Lincoln;; step-son Gary (Peg) Simpson of Centennial, CO; step-daughter Jann Simpson of New York, NY; daughter-in-law Connie Ang of Polk; three grandchildren: Robert (Kim) Alfred of Lincoln, Kevin (Lori) Ang of Polk, Kari (Shane) Schank of Central City; seven great grandchildren: Joshua Ang, Travis (Ashlen) Schwarz, McKenzie (Nate Brown) Schwarz, Shelby Schwarz, Sean Schwarz, Cole Alfred and Taylor Alfred; four great great grandchildren: Aeson, Zyler, Hadley and Aubree; three step-grandchildren: Kristin, Laura, and Marsha Simpson; three step-great grandchildren Jackson, Logan, and Renee; brother-in-law Merlin Simpson of Stromsburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Stanford Ang and Ralph Simpson; son Lanny Ang; her parents; two brothers Charles and Howard Wullbrandt; and sister-in-law Deloris Simpson.
Memorials are suggested to Laclede Cemetery in Polk.
