Donna Rae Wieseman, age 82, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away September 17, 2018 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19 from 5-7:00 Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery. Organist Louise Wheeler. Soloist Jane Roberts. Musical selections will be "I Then Shall Live", "He Touched Me", and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Cheston Coffin, Zachary Coffin, Caleb Alcorn, Jesse Bartek, Jared Bartek and J. Andrew Wieseman.
Donna was born February 29, 1936 to C. R. and Myrtle (Peterson) Carlson in Osceola. She attended country school District #28 and graduated from Osceola High School in 1953.
She was united in marriage to John D. Wieseman. To this union four children were born. The family resided on a farm north of Osceola, Nebraska. Over the years Donna worked as a secretary, nurses aide and housekeeper.
Above all she enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed card games, dominoes, listening to Polka music every Sunday morning, dancing, Gaither Brothers Gospel music, meeting new people and visiting, movies and reading from the Book of Proverbs.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children: John Patrick (Linda) Wieseman of Osceola; Janet Lee (Stephen) Bartek of Valparaiso; Mary Jo Wieseman-Ciurej of Ashland; Vicki Sue (Mitchell) Coffin of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; sisters Karleen Watts of Osceola, Mavis (Marlan) Hill of Sioux City, IA, Pat (Tom) DeLay of Norfolk; sister-in-law Janet Carlson of Rochester, MN; her devoted friend Merlin Simpson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents C.R. and Myrtle Carlson; one brother Ronald and one brother-in-law Maurice Watts; son-in-law Larry Ciurej.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Osceola First United Methodist Church or Osceola Fire and Rescue.
