Donna Rae Whitmore, age 68, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away February 6, 2026 at Abrazo Arrowhead Medical Plaza, in Glendale Arizona.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shelby United Methodist Church with Pastor Soonil Park officiating. Organist will be Unsun Park. Musical selections will be “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers will be Aaron Leimser, Luis Garcia, Sean Cherry, Connor Dudley, Seth Jensen and Ryan Moon. Visitation will be held Monday, February, 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Shelby. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.

Donna was born February 6, 1958 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Amil and Dorothy (Whaley) Harris. The family lived in Ravenna where she attended school, graduating high school in 1976. She then attended Central Technical Community College in Hastings, receiving her degree in Horticulture in 1979. She began working for the State of Nebraska Dept. of Parks in Grand Island and Kearney, then the City of Kearney Parks Dept. and later she was employed by the Kearney School Dist. She also worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Ravenna.

On March 5, 1983 she was united in marriage to Larry Whitmore in Ravenna. To this union three children were born. They moved to Shelby where Donna was a homemaker. She also worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola, was a Shelby Girl Scout leader for many years and she was a member of the Shelby United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband Larry Whitmore of Shelby; children: Adam Whitmore of Rising City, Jared Whitmore of Shelby, and Abby (Thane) Webb of Kearney; three grandchildren: Hayden, Grayson and Rowan Webb, all of Kearney; brother Dale (Sherry) Harris of Rockville and brother-in-law Scott Jensen of North Platte; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Amil and Dorothy Harris; and sister Deb Jensen.
