Donald ‘Bo’ E. Brandt, age 56, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away January 24, 2022 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Shelby with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Pianist will be Kim Voss. Pallbearers will be Pat Davis, Nick Micek, Doug Reznicek, Jeremy Smith, Jeff Perry, Jessie Perry, Eric Yungdahl and Kendall Perry. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.
Donald ‘Bo’ was born July 6, 1965 in Columbus to Darwin Brandt and Myrna (Stingley) Brandt. Bo went to Shelby Public School through the years and worked at Shelby Mill and Elevator, Dual Lift, Central Valley Ag, as contract labor for farmers, assisted at Grubaugh Auctioneers and most recently started his own business in Shelby called “Pody’s”.
Bo loved going to auctions, collecting coins, flipping antiques, playing cards, trips to Phoenix and helping others when needed. Bo was like an uncle figure to many of his friend’s children. Most importantly he enjoyed visiting with customers supporting “Pody’s” to make his dream come true.
Bo is survived by sisters: Linda Studer of San Jucinto, CA, Cindy (Dale) Wedekind of Hot Springs, SD, Deanna (Kellan) Perry of Shelby, Debra Jo (Brad) Fountain of David City, Kristi (Jose) Valladolid of Inglewood, CA; brothers: Kenny Moore of Hot Springs, SD, and Robert (Teresa) Moore of Elgin, NE, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends, At the age of 12, Bo met Tom and Mary Lou Perry and his family and instantly bonded and have remained part of each other’s family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Darwin Brandt, and Myrna Brandt; sister Debra Lynn Brandt; brother-in-law David Studer.
