Dixie Lee Jameson

Dixie Lee, the daughter of Edgar & Doris Peterson (née Falk) was born in Osceola, Nebraska on July 8th, 1935.

She grew up on a homestead near Swede Home, Nebraska, and attended and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1954.

She attended Luther College in Wahoo, Nebraska and then transferred to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she received a bachelors degree in Education in 1958. It was here that she met her future husband, Robert A. Jameson.

Dixie moved with her parents to Lakewood, California, where she taught kindergarten classes in Whittier, California.

Dixie Lee and Robert were married in Long Beach, California on July 11th, 1959. The newlyweds moved to Holloman AFB, near Alamagordo, New Mexico where their first son Todd was born. After a stay in Boulder, Colorado,

the family finally settled in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where their second son Ross was born.

Dixie was the proprietor of an antique and collectibles store called “The Enterprising Troll”, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was an avid hiker, played bridge, and inherited her mother’s skill at baking.

Dixie passed away on September 17, 2023 in Everett, Washington. She was 88 years old.

A private burial took place on September 28,2023 at Swede Home Cemetery.
