Debra Arlene (Asche) Brouillette, age 68, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at her home on January 16, 2026.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola with Pastor Raleigh White officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Organist will be Louise Wheeler. Congregational hymns will be “You Who Dwell in the Shelter of the Lord (On Eagle’s Wings)”; “In The Garden”; “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” by St. Paul Choir and “Benediction.” Pallbearers will be Kraton Gabel, Dahlton Redwing, Mason Gabel, Kobe Brouillette, Kighter Wortmann, and Evan Hohman. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hohman, Craig Wortmann and Bryant Wortmann. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.


Debra was born August 16, 1957 in Ogallala, NE to Kenneth Asche and Pearl Laycock. She attended Osceola Public Schools and graduated in 1975.


She was united in marriage to Douglas Brouillette and to this union they were blessed with four children. Melissa, Craig, Julie and Wendy. Later in life she found the love of her life, Scot Richards, with this relationship comes 20 cats, a dog and two fish.


Her employment started in home daycare for many years. She also worked at Annie Jeffery Memorial Hospital, Polk County Health Department, York General Hospital in medical records, Shelby Lumber, and Osceola Courthouse. She was a long serving member of the Osceola Ambulance Squad for 37 years.


She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved watching them in sports. In the summer she spent time mowing and she loved gardening and canning. She always shared her produce with co-workers and neighbors. She loved decorating for Christmas and enjoyed baking Christmas cookies for her family. She was always ready to host her family at her house. She exceeded at taking care of others. She loved to travel with her family and was able to see many amazing locations. She spent time with her Mom shopping and baking.


Survivors include her children: Melissa (Adam) Gabel of Osceola, Craig (Trista Engel) Brouillette of Osceola, Julie (Mark) Hohman of Elmwood, NE and Wendy (Craig) Wortmann of Hartington; grandchildren: Jadyn (Kenneth), Dahlton, Kraton (Brooke), Mason, Kobe (Sydney), Ava, Evan, Kighter, Anisten and Bryant; great grandchildren: Lexander, Maura, Orianna, and Ember; significant other Scot Richards of Osceola; mother Pearl Laycock of Osceola; sister Nancy (John) Manweiler of Washington, UT; brother Paul (Terri) Asche of Grand Island; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Asche, sister Susan Smith, and granddaughter Abigail Hohman.
