Deanna Marie Pedersen, age 79, of Stromsburg, Nebraska passed away June 1, 2022 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

Services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1300 N. Grand Island Ave., Grand Island NE with Rev. Thomas Schneider officiating. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace”, “This Is The Day The Lord Has Made”, and “How Great Thou Art.” Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Schroeder, Rory Petska, Britney Petska, Travis Tonniges, Tracy Tonniges, Madison Leifert, Nick Dunham and Joe Dunham.

Deanna was born July 2, 1942 in San Diego, California to Keneth and Leota (Legband) Peterson. She attended school in Giltner, Nebraska.

On December 25, 1959 she was united in marriage to Garold Lee Dunham. They moved to Kansas where Garold was stationed in the military. To this union four children were born. Deanna later worked as a cook at the Regional Center in Lincoln for many years. After she retired she moved to Grand Island where she lived for 25+ years.

She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Island.

She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her children: Garold Jr. Dunham of Grand Island, Linda (Kent) Tonniges of Gresham, Jeff (Tracy) Dunham of Bellevue, and Jason (Jody) Dunham of Omaha; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother Kenny (Bonnie) Peterson of Tennessee; sister Mary Thoman of York; sister-in-law Gwen Legband of Benedict; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Garold who passed away in 1980; her parents; sisters Betty, and Darlene and brothers Duane and Gale.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. They may be sent to 2318 Hwy 69, Gresham NE 68367.

Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements.
