David Carl Burritt, age 60, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away March 3, 2025 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Health Center in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Silver Creek Methodist Church with Lay Minister Connie Kramer officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.

David was born December 19, 1964 in Osceola, to Kenneth Carl and Lynda L. (Merrick) Burritt. He attended school in Osceola, graduating from Osceola High School in 1983.

In 1990 Dave became a fireman in Columbus where he worked for 29 years. He also served on the Osceola Volunteer Fire Department prior to that.

On August 29, 1992 he was united in marriage to Gail Alice Channer in the Belgrade City Park. To this union one daughter was born. They made their home west of Osceola. Dave retired from firefighting in 2019 due to his health.

Dave served on the Polk County Fair Board, was active with coaching softball and playing softball and baseball over the years. He enjoyed music and was a drummer in various country bands. He was a big Husker football fan and did not miss a home game in 36 years. He was also the voice of the Bulldogs for the last several years.

Survivors include his wife Gail of Osceola; daughter Erika of Osceola; parents Kenneth and Lynda of Osceola; brother Douglas (Kim) Burritt of Osceola; sister Debra Williams of Raymond; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Irene and Carl Burritt and Dick and Helen Merrick.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
