Danny Arthur Ransom, age 69, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away April 10, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Todd Thelen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.

Danny Arthur Ransom was born June 18, 1955 to Arthur and Eileen Ransom in Stromsburg NE. Even though his dad died when Danny was only 2yrs old he speaks with such pride of him. When introducing himself he always says with pride, “My name is Danny Arthur Ransom, I'm named after my dad.”

Danny grew up in the family home in Shelby with his mom, uncle Lee Glatter and his grandmother Alma Glatter. He was surrounded with love from family who also lived in his neighborhood. Uncle Stubby and Aunt Arleen lived across the street along with cousins DeAnna and Ray. Down a couple of houses were Uncle Sonny and Aunt Doris Glatter.

He attended Shelby Public school and in the 70's was one of the first to learn life skills and make friends in David City at Region V. He remembers the short time he was there that Lucille Brannen taught him to cook and Clair Brannen told him he was so strong cause he could carry a 2x4 on his shoulder. When moving to David City to live with Bernard and Jane Buresh, he reunited with many of those same friends and made new ones attending day services at the same provider, now called Apace. Danny also made many friends as he hung out with his “best buddy” Bernie, in the meat shop and their regular stops at Stop Inn and on tire runs.

Some of the friends and family who's deaths he has bravely endured are his grandparents William and Elma Glatter, parents Arthur and Eileen, Uncle Lee Glatter, Uncle Sonny and Doris Glatter, Bernard Buresh, Uncle Philo and Aunt Ruth, Uncle Fred Jensen, Larry Smaus, Francis and Lucile Lukassen, DeAnna Thelen, Merv Ransom.

Left to cherish his memory and delight in his many antics are family members, Aunt Darleen Jensen, Greg Ransom, Ken Thelen, Bonnie Ransom among others. All of Danny's Buresh and Lukassen families will keep him in our hearts and stories will forever be shared. He also will be remembered with love by staff and friends at Good Sams' and Tabatha Hospice. Thank you for treating Danny with such love and care.
