Corinne Edna Stephens, age 85, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away November 25, 2023 at her home in Osceola.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Osceola Methodist Church with Pastor Soonil Park officiating. Organist will be Louise Wheeler. Piano duet with Louise Wheeler and Carita Willits playing “It Is Well With My Soul.” Vocalist will be Jane Roberts singing “Fill My Cup Lord.” Special music will be “Drinking From The Saucer.” Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Markovic, John Mather Lamar, Nathaniel Markovic, Zach Gaiter, Aaron Gaiter and Seth Markovic. Inurnment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
Corinne was born May 5, 1938 in Providence R.I. to Joseph and Leneada (Wilding) Ricci. The family moved to North Miami where she attended high school. After graduating high school she received a degree in Special Ed from Troy University in 1973. She also obtained certification from the State of Minnesota for Personal Property Appraiser specializing in antiques, and from the State of Nebraska, a certificate for training service dogs for handicapped individuals.
On September 29, 1973 she was united in marriage to William ‘Will’ G. Stephens in Donaldson, GA. They started their life together in Marianna, FL raising their combined family of three daughters and four sons. Corinne and Will moved to Nebraska in 1975.
Corinne was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osceola. She helped with various organizations and because of her devotions to these she was awarded the Good Neighbor Citation from the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben.
She owned several businesses that were successful including Stephen’s Deli in Osceola and C & W Antique Shop.
Survivors include her husband Will Stephens of Osceola; daughter Diane (John) LaMar of Marianna, FL; sons David (Angie) Markovic of Gresham and Robert Markovic of Lincoln; Pamula (David) Eldridge of Grand Ridge, FL, Michelle Stephens of Cottondale, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Eileen Ricci of Plainville, MA, and Donna Venegas of Osceola; brother-in-law Mike Davis of Osceola; and two dogs Baby Girl and Goldie.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Leneada Ricci, sons Joseph Markovic and Judson Nevers; sisters Joan Berreth, Linda Robinson and Edith Davis; brother-in-law Art Venegas.
Memorials are suggested to IAADP (International Asso. Of Assistance Dog Partners) or any animal rescue in lieu of flowers.
