Corey Jay Watts, age 51, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away July 29, 2025 in Lincoln, the result of a vehicle accident.
Memorial service will be held Monday, August 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Evan Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the church. Musical selections will be “Scars In Heaven”, “Jealous Of The Angels”, “When I Get Where I’m Going”, and “Never Not Remember You.” A private family inurnment will take place at the Osceola Cemetery at a later date. The family encourages attendees to wear golf attire. Lunch will follow the service at Ryan Hill Country Club.
Corey was born October 24, 1973 in Osceola to Donald Jay and Joy Jonelle (Smith) Watts. He attended school in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School in 1992. Corey worked with his brother on the family farm and also worked for Vrbka Ag. He was united in marriage and to this union two children were born.
Corey enjoyed golfing, farming, cooking and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion and Ryan Hill Country Club in Osceola.
Survivors include his mother Joy Watts of Clarks; sons Clayton (Brooke) Watts of Osceola, Ceagen (Maddie) Watts of Shelby; significant other Cheryl Evans of Shelby and her children Wyatt and Tyler Sherman: brother Chris (Shari) Watts of Osceola; nieces, Sierra Harrison, Aspyn Harrison and Danica Watts; 3 grand puppies; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Watts.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
