Connie Frances (Smethers) Larson

Connie Frances Larson, age 61, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away December 26, 2020 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola.
A private family service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Dubas Funeral Home in Stromsburg with inurnment at the Stromsburg Cemetery, followed by an 11:00 a.m. public time of fellowship at the Corner Cafe. All welcome.
Connie was born May 7, 1959 to Lloyd Dale and Viola Bernice (Nobles) Smethers in Amarillo, Texas. She attended elementary school in Rockwall, Texas and graduated from Garland High School in 1978.
In 1976 she was united in marriage to Rodney Stark. To this union their son Jamie was born. Rodney passed away in 1981 due to an automobile accident. Connie then moved to Nebraska to be closer to her mother and to start nursing school. She graduated from Central Community College in Columbus with a nursing degree in 1989. She worked five years in Seward as a nurse then at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg where she made life long friends.
On December 3, 1994 she was united in marriage to Terry Duane Larson at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg by Pastor Bob. In the spring of 1995 Terry adopted their daughter Jessica. In 1997 their daughter Morgan, was born. In 2002 Terry made her dreams come true, they bought The Corner Cafe. The place where she could keep everyone on their toes.
Connie loved being a wife, mother and a very proud grandma. She enjoyed fishing and having bonfires at the lake, reading, puzzles, bowling and antique shopping with her daughters.
Survivors include her husband Terry Larson of Stromsburg; son Jamie Stark (Tracy Miller); daughter Jessica (Michael) Warnick; daughter Morgan Larson (Harlan Faulconer) all of Stromsburg; grandson Lucas Warnick and one grandchild due in July 2021; parents Viola Bernice (Sterling) Anderson; brother Nathan (Amy) Clendenin of Hastings; nephews Zach (Kelly) Andrus and Braxton Clendenin; father-in-law Wesley Larson; aunt and uncle Phillip and Ethel Cuddeford all of Stromsburg; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by mother-in-law Carolyn Lou Larson; husband Rodney Stark; father Lloyd Smethers;  grandparents Viola and Joe Ed Nobles.
Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers to be designated later.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
