Colleen Joyce (Malek) Hiemer Agena, age 89, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away January 20, 2021 at her home in Lincoln
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Organist will be Louise Wheeler. Soloist will be Jane Roberts. Musical selections will be "Because He Lives" and "Hymn of Promise". Pallbearers will be Tim Hiemer, Cole Hiemer, Ryan Hiemer, Tyler Hayes, Quentin Hayes, Dana Alt, Devin Alt, and Dylan Alt.
Colleen was born June 11, 1931 to John 'Jack' and Hazel (Johnson) Malek in Osceola. She attended school in Osceola graduating in 1949. Following high school she worked at First National Bank in Osceola.
She was united in marriage to Dale A. Hiemer at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola. To this union five children were born.  The family resided in Osceola where they owned and operated the Malek 66 gas station. Colleen and Dale moved to Lincoln in the early 1980's due  to Dale's health. He passed away November 1, 1986.
Colleen worked for an insurance company in Lincoln. She was united in marriage to Wayne Agena in 1991. They remained in Lincoln where they retired.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Legion Auxiliary, Mother of Twins Club, and a former member of the Osceola First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include husband Wayne of Lincoln; son Jon (Sharon) Hiemer of Duncan, three daughters, Julie (Tim) Eklund-McMeekin of Seward, Jill (Fred) Bush of Stromsburg and Jennifer (Greg) Hayes of Raymond; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale A. Hiemer, parents; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Dave Alt; son-in-law Don Eklund; brother Jim Malek and sister Janet Hiemer.
Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers to be designated later.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
