Clarence Roger Peetzke, age 89, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away May 24, 2022 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone", "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow", "Heaven Is Now My Home", "The Garden", and "Thank You For Being My Dad." Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren: Jayson, Mark, John and Staci Peetzke. Inurnment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Clarence was born March, 29, 1933 to Clarence Walter and Rose (Epp) Peetzke in Bradshaw, NE. He attended elementary school in Hampton when the family moved to Polk and he graduated from Polk High School in 1952. Clarence enrolled in correspondence schooling with the Industrial Training Institute in Chicago, IL in radio and television repair and completed his studies on February 14, 1955.
On August 7, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley May Fox at United Brethren Church in Geneva. To this union two sons were born. The family lived in Stromsburg where Clarence was a TV repairman and worked for Beckman Plumbing and Economy Grocery. He then began working at the Stromsburg High School where he was janitor for many years. After his retirement from the school he returned to Economy grocery store in Stromsburg finally retiring in 2019.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg, Stromsburg Fire Department, Swede Haven Housing Authority Board, Krazy Kampers and Leisure Lovin Sam’s.
He enjoyed camping, old cars, collecting many different things including toys, hats, cups and also dirt from everywhere they camped.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of Stromsburg; sons William (Laura) Peetzke of Aurora and Douglas (Janet) Peetzke of Omaha; grandchildren: Jayson of Oshkosh, Mark and John of Omaha and Anastacia “Staci” of Wahoo; one sister Beverly (Mike) Powell of Juniata and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Rose; in-laws Harry and Bernice Fox and one niece Sandra Powell.
