Carolyn L. (Hartig) Funkhouser

Carolyn L. Funkhouser, age 75, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away August 12, 2021 at her home in Shelby.
Graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shelby Cemetery with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
Carolyn was born May 3, 1946 in Linn, Kansas to Clarence W. and Lorna S. (Boerger) Hartig. She attended school in Linn, Kansas and graduated from Hardy High School of Hardy, Nebraska.
On June 20, 1984 she was united in marriage to Larry 'Pudge' R. Funkhouser in Osceola, NE. She worked as a cook and waitress at the Shelby Hotel for many years until her retirement in 2020.
She was a member of the VFW, and Shelby Legion Auxiliary Post 296. She enjoyed gardening, gambling and crafts.
Survivors include her husband Pudge Funkhouser of Shelby; children Travis Deryke of Lincoln and Brian Petersen of Hubbell; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister Rose Hand of Lincoln; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant brother.
