Beverly Sue Cox, age 70, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away December 18, 2019.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Shelby with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the church. Organist will be Peggy Coffin. Soloist will be Rita Houdersheldt. Musical selections will be "Jesus Loves Me", and "Wind Beneath My Wings." Pallbearers will be Corey Vrbka, Ronald Glatter, Robert Glatter, Cody Vrbka, Casey Vrbka, Colby Vrbka. Interment will be in the Shelby Cemetery.
Beverly was born June 22, 1949 in Shelby to Clyde and Nellie (Carter) Cox. She attended school in Shelby graduating from Shelby High School. After high school she lived in Osceola and later moved back to Shelby. She worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola as a C.N.A. for 30 years, retiring in 2001.
She liked painting, watching videos, books and movies.
Survivors include two sisters Nellie Merrick of Bellwood and Jessie Morris of Aryshire, Iowa; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Shelby Senior Center in lieu of flowers.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
